So our washing machine stopped working and I haven't figured out how to fix it quite yet... in the meantime there's nothing quite like hand washing laundry for 6 people. I suppose this IS what I asked for. I've always wanted to become more independent and sustainable! We started out in the bathroom this morning and moved it outside as it warmed up.

Our washing machine died on us recently (and was deemed beyond repair). I have to admit washing for a family of 6 (one of whom is still in cloth diapers) is not my idea of fun! I can live happily without all sorts of gadgets, but when we finally managed to get a new washing machine I did heave a huge sigh of relief!
Have you seen the hand-cranked ones that are available?
